- There'll Never Be Peace 

Robert Burns was born in Alloway, Ayrshire, in 1759, when the sentiments of the 1745 Jacobite Uprising were still very much in evidence. The haunting image of an old man tending to the graves of his seven fallen sons, lends this song very powerful imagery. "Jamie" is of course James VIII.
